`td5 auto noisy at start-up

Hie guys. my 2002 TD5 AUTO DISCO II starts well but engine runs noisy at start-up. After engine warm -up(+/-15min of driving), the noise goes and all is ok. Please can anyone help? I love my disco but noise is quite irritating.

When the TD5 starts up it will be noisy for a while as 5 cyliders but only 4 glow plugs, dont ask me why.When No.5 gets warmwed up the noise should stop.

Because the fuel pressure regulator is located where the fifth glow plug would normally fit. The engine should only miss once or twice on start up if all is good. The TD5 does not need glows in most UK weather conditions if kept serviced regularly. I run my TD5 during the spring to autumn months with the glow plugs disabled to give the battery a break after a hard winters cranking. Not sure if it makes a difference but I am still using the original battery fitted in 1998 from new with no problems.
