hi to all you fellow land rover owners. ive got a problem with my air suspension on my td5. some times i park it just for a mater of minutes and on my return the back end is at its lowest. sometimes it goes down over nite and sometimes it stays where it should.... any ideas anyone?????

Do a search for more info but mine has the same problem, can go for weeks/months with no problem and then suddenly in matter of ten mins or over night rear left drops to lowest, normally happens when ive parked on unlevel ground especially if front higher than back, i know what my problem is though it will be a fine hole in the air bag, search on here and you will see the best thing to do is to cover the air bags in soapy water and look for blowing bubbles, do this to all the pipes as well, replacement bags are about £60- £80 each and Im told its easy to do your self as long as bolts come off, again its all on here somewhere, and some one will put us both right coz they are all dead clever chaps and chappesses.Happy New Year all !!

It is a really easy job to change the balloon, I did one of mine a couple of months ago, It took about fifteen minutes from start to finish and you dont even have to take the wheel off. The fault on the airbag was confirmed as previously mentioned with a soapy water solution sprayed onto the balloon with a trigger type spayer, revealing a white foamy patch where the rubber had become pourous. LR recommend changing them every 5 years anyway.

Anyone Got A Info Or A Link On How To Change These As One Of Mine Needs Doing And I Would Like To Try Myself If Nothign Special Is Needed

A quick look revealed this

Replacing an Air Bag

1. jack car really high put stands under chassis letting axle dangle
2. remove jack and put under diff pan.
3. take off wheel, jack axle slightly
4. carefully take off two air bag retaining clips at mounting at top and remove air supply pipe.
5. remove bag like light bulb
6. lock new bag in
7. use jack to raise axle and get pipe on.
8. put clips back on
9. jack up axle really high to fool sensors into low ride height
10. close all doors including boot and open drivers window.
11. start car through drivers window and run for a few seconds to put just a touch of air in the bag
12. stop engine and check that bag is inflating properly and square
run engine again till bag inflated
13. put on wheel
14. take off stands and jack

But as I found out some of the steps are not really nessesary. EG. removing the wheel......

Hi Yorkshireman try this; Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide it's easy to follow I changed both bags in about an hour. If you cannot pick the link up from here look on TD5 air suspension where someone sent the link in answer to my question.
