TD5 90 soft-top conversion

Can anyone recommend where to buy the hood stick set and canvas for a soft top? I placed an order with Exmoor Trim but they don´t have them in stock and it will take a couple of weeks. I don´t want them to arrive after the summer so cancelled the order. I have a 2000 TD5 90

I saw that safety devices also do an inside roll cage, is this a better option than the hood stick set?

As I don´t have the canvas or hoop kit, I am thinking whether I can simply use it without any roof for now? Will the windscreen support itself without the rain gutters above the door present? Are they structural?

Have you tried allwheeltrim?

They do the full fitting kit. one thing to check . Do you have the holes for the hood sticks to slide into on the top of the rear tub?

PLus , also do not forget the seatbelt bar requirement. I think the LR hoop as fitted to the military vehicles is a nice easy solution, but you would need to modify the hood sticks if you fitted one.

The holes are there. I have been looking at a number of suppliers but they all seem to source from either exmoor trim or safety devices (for the heavy duty version). I will give allwheeltrim a go tomorrow

As @neilly above, Allwheeltrim provide complete kits + you will need to buy a seatbelt mounting bar/frame. One thing to note re' softops, the hood frames are not good/non-structural in an accident or roll-over. Heavier duty frames are available or add an external roll cage. I have a safety devices roll cage extended through the body and welded to the chassis for added security.

+ Allwheeltrim provide galvanised soft top rain gutters...you'll also need to include the above windscreen canvas frame front with the right type of seal rail. Here, it's worth removing your old rubber seal and updating to the mid/later seal type and frame as this enables you to roll back the front canvas section.

thanks @v8250! I have just emailed allwheeltrim to see whether they have the items available.

I emailed safety devices yesterday and am waiting for their response. I have asked whether I can buy from them direct or whether they have a distributor over here in Slovakia. Is your rollcage external? I quite like the internal ones they offer.

My roll cage is external + have the standard inner galvanised frame. SD do a military internal cage but not sure if there's a canvas readily available. It would be worth talking directly to Allwheeltrim as they do offer a bespoke canvas service and maybe they can provide for a military cage. There were some NAS Defenders with military type cages with window soft tops, they look very good!

Are there any other suppliers apart from exmoor trim, safety devices or allwheeltrim? Sadly, none of these are great with communication.
