TD5/300TDi steering lock.

Hi All.
Not been on much lately and now have a problem with my D2 TD5.
The ignition barrel is very worn you can see the key has cut into the barrel.
Now the TD5 locks are quite expensive but I think I recall that a 300 TDi lock assembly will fit but you have to keep the fob on the keyring to work the imobbaliser can anyone verify this.
I'm not too worried about extra keys as long as it will physically fit.
Any help appreciated.

I'm sure I've seen that somewhere too. Had prob's with my key but turned out it just needed lubricating. The lock not the key

Yeah done that with mine but only a temp fix I think.
