Hi, I’m new to the forum to please be gentle!
When I bought my 110 the temp gauge alway used to show colder than it actually was (however she’s never got too hot and runs gorgeous all of the time!) but it never bothered me because I knew it was running at a good temp. Then I decided to change the temp sender as I thought it would be rather nice to know what temps it was running at what time (roughly speaking).

Now I have a temp that works as normal BUT.... when I turn the lights on, it will jump up about 2 hours (as if it was a clock), if I then turn the blowers on it goes up another 2 hours, if I press the horn it goes up another hour and if I have my music on loud it pulses with the music even further sometimes.
If I have it all going at once I get it to touch the end of the hot side!

It doesn’t affect the running side of things other than (now I’m not too sure whether it was just going from the cold weather to the warm weather...) my cold start doesn’t seem as prominent as it did before - cold start seems like 1000rpm rather than what felt like 1500rpm before - but I sort of blamed that on the previous sender being faulty.

If I use none of the aforementioned electrics, it functions absolutely fine. Any ideas?!

A couple of notes worth mentioning;

I have tried - a new binnacle harness, a spare temp gauge off a friends 110, all fuses are fine and have changed them as a matter of course (Relays I’m not too sure about!), I’ve added an extra earth from engine to chassis to no avail. My 110 is running one regular battery and 1 leisure battery with a t-max split charge system.

Only thing I haven’t changed yet is the temp sender but I thought it unlikely that a brand new one would be defective.

Help!

Thanks guys, I will check all the earths - earth point diagram very helpful. Job for this afternoon if it’s not persisting it down!

If the earths are all okay I’m tempted to try another sender.

cheers

Agreed. Its hard to ignore the thing and I want to sort mine. Mine only does it after a good 40-60 mins driving. I haven't gone through earths yet bar checking the ecu earth. Keep us updated. I have a couple of spare earth straps. One of those things you know will come in handy when you find in tool box lol.
