Hi, can anybody help me with a problem I have aFreelander T D 4. There is no power until 3000rpm but then the turbo seems to kick in !!!! This is a replacement engine from a Breakers as the original seized . The engine sounds good and starts first turn. Any help would be very much appreciated :(:( thanks

well that is what i think... look for roverron and his solutions..

how many miles the engine done?

the maf gets a bit poorly after 45k
 
Thanks . im not sure what MAF is or what it does !!!!!!!!!! engine has done about 76000 !!!! if that helps ? :confused2:
 
MAF - Mass Airflow Sensor.

located in air intake. I think its supposed to measure incoming air temp and tell management system how to mix fuel air ratio. It goes out of spec causing hesitation and your symptoms.

Unplug it and have a drive. If things improve you've found the fault.

Oh - you'll need location of said item! Its in the air intake ducting, standing at front of car top left hand side - remove air cleaner cover to get to it. Search on here and you'll find pics!
