TD4 Timing cover removal -

hi all, has anyone removed the timing cover from a td4 engine, i believe this requires the removal of the cylinder head.

my mate hit some debris on the mway and it has damaged the timing cover.

any idea what a garage would charge to do this.

Get the Rave cd from Muddy oval..pretty sure it would cover that...Btw its free..

hi there, we have the rave cd and it looks like the head must come off.

alternatively can alloy welding be performed whilst the part is on the car or must it be removed first.



Anyhow, i have changed a head gasket on my girlfriends rover 218 but my mates freelander is worth a lot more than the rover, so we are both a little nervous about stripping it .

any idea where we can get the special tools required for camshaft locking
