Hope all is well.
Took the TD4 for its annual service this week for its 84k/7 year service. Took it to Pheonix Services in Harlow.
First of all, the service I received was excellent and the guys there explained everything in detail. More so than the main dealers/stealers I used to take it to! I explained to them some of the concerns I had with the car and they went over it very thoroughly. I.e Flat spot at 1500 and smoke on first start of the day. Issues that no one in the passed could find, and at a cost of EGR and Air Flow Meter (which I was stupid to purchase as I did not listen to you guys).
They did a full diagnostic on the car and checked all readings of the vehicle. They advised the following:
1)Injector 3: inbalanced when cold but settled when warm
2)Injector 2: Ok when cold and inbalanced when warm.
They said to monitor and advise. They suggested maybe a cleaner. Not worth wasting money on injectors for now. What you think?
They did the oil change and filters and crank breather filter, and to my surprise, the oil filter was totally screwed! No flow of oil going through it. Either a poor quality filter or not changed for long time. So very surprised when I was charged £580 last year by Alymer. It was nice to go through all this with someone and actually were shown all the bits that were changed. They put 10-40 oil. With a screwed oil filter, would that give any syptoms?
I can honestly recommend these guys as they are so fanatical about Land Rovers and just want your car running as it should.
