TD4 More Power ?

Well i'm new here having bought a 2009 Freelander 2 HSE Auto . Is there are tried and tested route to more power or is it not advised . Having come from a 300bhp car i am sure i will get used to the lower power but i would like a bit more pick up when accelerating to make overtaking safer . I have done a search on here and not really come up with anything helpful so far .
