TD4 Injector studs...CRAP!!!

Hi Guys....Started to strip down today for the Water Pump & Stat replacement (TD4).
Decided whilst I was getting down & dirty to remove the Camshaft cover to check the state of the Camshafts & chain.
Removed the nuts from the injector clamp studs (Pillar studs as LR call them) and then came to jack the injectors out using a small Torx socket, as per RAVE. 1st injector
One stud turned, other one seized solid but the free stud pulled the injector out. This gave aceess to the hexagon on the stud and managed to remove it.

Went back to No.2 and tried levering out with a large screwdriver-no joy
Put some Plusgas around the Injector had a cuppa and :smokin::smokin:
Went back to it and after using two beefy screwdrivers as levers, it finally popped out.

The Torx bit on the end of the stud is about 4mm and is weak considering how tight the Injectors can be due years of muck etc.
The replacement studs come in a kit and are about £42 including VAT for 9 of them ...Dunno why there are 9 when there are 2 per Injector, when I went to school 4 X 2=8 !!!
As usual, LR part only, have to be ordered so it will be the middle of next week when I get them. Also ordered new "O" rings and copper seat washers whilst I was at it.

no need to remover injectors to do water pump, I did mine yesterday...

Just a few coolant pipes engine mounts thats it.

As my post...Whilst I was doing the water pump, I decided to check the state of the camshafts and timing chain at the same time. Originally, I was just going to replace the pump/stat but went for the extra job as an afterthought.
It turned out that it wasn't the water pump but the "O" ring on the coolant rail where it fits on to the stat- it had perished. Luckily, I ordered a replacement at the same time as the new pump & stat. The new pump and stat is now fitted.
The original water pump (Date stamped 2002) had a plastic impeller, the new one is metal.
Looking at the state of the vacuum hoses, I have decided to replace them all with Silicone and have ordered 6 metres of the stuff (It's 4mm i.d.).

I always have the engine as hot as it can be even using a blow torch and then give a good does of wd40 and they can still be rock solid , and are you sure of that price a couple of years ago I was quoted £26 each

Hi Teddywood..yes, I have researched it and it is a "Kit" of 9 studs. There are several bits on the web including a link to LZ whereby people have almost had heart attacks after being told by main stealers that they are £30 each when in fact it is for the set. Plus VAT of course !!

I know this is a dead thread. Sorry.

Anyone have the part number for the studs ? Landover /rover/ BMW. ?

Got a broken clamp and 2 bent ones. Looked at realoem and it's not showing with the clamp. Albeit there is one showing on rocker cover that looks like it but didn't wanna order the wrong thing

I use lrcat for parts searching as it gives you the numbers.

A quick look yeilded MUX100130L or 8510225, LR009825 or 8510026. Can't remember which was for what now, but Google is your friend...
The nut is MHY100210.
Lrcat shows 2 lots of numbers for different chassis number ranges.

I did find that bolt on Realoem and it looked 'right' bit the description cam cover threw me off a bit.
