I have a puzzling question regarding a Td4 injector.
See this picture.
Annotated injector.jpg
There is an outer jacket that holds the rubber seal, but I have two injectors with jackets that easily slide up and down on the injector’s body.

I removed the split-wire clip on both and removed the offending jackets. There is a green rubber seal within each plus a steel end-cap that slots in above the seal.

Both end caps were a tight fit and were difficult to remove, but they did come off. Now, when rebuilding the jackets with new seals I find the end-cap is loose and will not give a tight fit. They are the same with the original seals fitted too, for comparison.

The jacket, once refitted, is still loose on the body and doesn’t seem able to become tight like the others I have.

I hope all this makes sense.

Might anyone have an idea or an answer to the loose jackets and end-caps that will not go tight?
And as I'm in the process of fitting four brand-new, never used, untouched, Bosch injectors, the removed ones will be kept as spares.

I'm adding this post Post/Thread.
I had another look at the 2 injectors, then at another full set I have in a box. It seems that loose jackets are a common feature. So, I fitted slightly thicker seals and used loctite242 on the end-caps.
The end result, it works.
However, I'm still open to any advice about this subject?
