hi yes just looked at your link looks a good bit of kit but no price but thanks for the reply bigeee thanks dawn

Yes the hawkeye does. I've just bought one. Far better than an odbii reader, or p code reader. The hawkeye will also talk with the abs unit, auto gearbox if you have it, and security system. Can view codes, clear codes, provide all sorts of diagnostic data - current whilst on the move too. Allows you to control outputs from the engine computer, like the fans on the radiator can be switched on etc. The hawkeye comes with locking codes, one free when you get it. I had mine locked to any Freelander 1. A freelander 2, disco 2, disco 3 etc are all different codes, which can be bought later on if you wish.

You’d have to buy something like auto logic, which I think does most vehicles. It won’t do every thing on each vehicle as some of the stuff is manufacturer/vehicle specific. If your paying many £1000’s for a device, then it will cover most vehicles.

The hawkeye does cover all land rover models, but the unit only comes with one locking code. I chose to have mine set to Freelander 1. Therefore I can talk to any Freelander 1. The same unit could be used to talk with say a disco 3, but I would have to buy another locking code and ask for this to be set to disco 3. The second code costs more.

The locking code is dependent on the internal unit serial number, so can’t be used on another hawkeye. You have to send off for this after receiving the hawkeye.

I think the price you’ve put up above is plus vat. I got mine via another forum, which arranged a discount through a certain bearmach seller. You also have to buy a converter for the Freelander 1, depending on the security system fitted. It looks like you may have the same person over here, advertising the same discount option. I’m sorry I promised not to put on a forum the price I paid for my unit. This is available from the person who arranged the discount. He’s not making a profit for the sales. He just points you to the seller.

Have a look over here – same person arranging discounts:
