I had a problem with the clutch back in May and after reading lots on here I took a chance and replaced the Master Cylinder. This worked fine till the day before we went on holiday last week. Then 1 mile from home the pedal hit the floor and wouldn't come back up!!! Left car on drive and then got it to local garage for slave cylinder and clutch.
It took just over a day for them to fix and its back all working. So it looks like the Master cylinder was just a temp fix.

Only thing is the clutch pedal is now very light and biting point is about a third from the bottom. Is this normal or might I have some air in the system? The garage who did the work did say the clutch seems a bit spongy but they had bled it a number of times and it didn't get any better.
So is a normal td4 clutch pedal quite light to press and bites about a third of the way up?

Cheers

The pedal will usually be light after a clutch change.

The biting point starts off low with a new clutch. As the clutch wears the biting point progressively raises. A bite point at the top of the clutch pedal travel is usually a sure sign that a new clutch will soon be needed.
