hello

help me and my mate please

just got a td4 on a 02 plate but on driving i get a clunk on releasing the clutch when changing gear, more at low gears then high, it feels like its coming from the back end????? i had someone sit in the back while changing gears and it felt to them it was the rear. also when reversing if i turn the wheel it tends to stall, does it need more pedal when reversing or is that a sign to the clunk???

my mates prob is he has a v6 auto on a 02 plate and wants to know how to check his gear box oil level????? and how to top up if needed

cheers

Hi,

Bought my Freelander a month ago and had nothing but problems with it. The problem you are describing I am also have trouble with. Recently changed clutch, flywheel, bottom engine pulley and door actuator at a cost of £1000 in total! Not a happy chappy!!! Over in Ireland at the moment for Xmas and New Year and engine won't start. Turns out to be in tank fuel pump so hopefully it will be sorted in time for the ferry home!

With regards to the clunking I have no idea and keep asking people what it could be and they are unsure. Keep me updated!

Many thanks and good luck! Happy New Year!

sounds like a rear diff mounting bush has gone ,, quite a common fault, £15 for the part, and hour to replace,
check it out
