Rear passenger door button stopped opening, then when I took the door card off today to take a look, the front one stopped as well. Means I have to open the doors from inside once locked.

Pressing the fob lock button once deadlocks all the doors as normal. One press of the open button opens just the drivers door and removes the deadlock from all the doors. A second press opens just the rear driver door rather than the passenger side as well. If I use the key, it only locks the drivers side front and rear.

The tailgate locking is working as normal.

As the deadlock is coming off, I assume the solenoids are working okay - not a seperate one for the standard locks?

Any Ideas?

Sounds more like an elecrical connection problem if fault has escalated by disturbing the back door card as they are all connected pay you to check wiring / connections:)

think there are two solenoids, one for lock, and one for superlock. would check the connections for the failed locks first, as there is a common element there.

also, lubricate all the linkages and rods before putting back, as it won't make it worse, and has been known to free up the odd one.

failing that, looking at about £75 for a new lock assembly. Somewhere on here, someone stripped the lock right down to component parts and found a similar solenoid in maplin, which they they filed and adapted to fit, and all was good. Twas about 2 years ago though, so if you do a search, it should pop up in the end

good luck

Excellent info, thanks. As I had only taken off the door card on the rear pass door, disconnected the rear door window switch and fiddled with the soleniod connector wires / flexed the solenoid, then either the problem is there, or there is a major coincidence that the front door mechansim failed at that time, so I agree, may be a problem there. What bugs me is that the drivers side rear still operates fine. I'll get the card off again and play with the wires. Is it possible to direct any switch cleaner into anything meaningfull while the lock is still bolted to the door?
