Hi folks,

Have have a look and can't find a thread about cold start advice on a td 90. I have a good new battery. 750cca, 110ah blah blah.

Is there a thread? Any tips welcome.
Doing engine swop in new year so just want to get through winter. It tends to be little rough on start but after up to temp ok. Smokey when I boot it but c'est la vie.

make sure that all the heater plugs are working , have a can of easy start handy , to use before the battery starts to fail ! precut some kindling , and buy some firelighters !!

Keep ya feet off the gofaster pedal as it turns off the coldstart on the fuelpump.
hold ignition key at glowplug setting for 20seconds.
turn to ignition and allow engine to run for a sec or so before presing the gofaster pedal.

Worked for me on N/A and TD engined 90 and 110's

Thanks. All excellent advice. Might have to look at the cold start as reluctant to keep running with out a blimp on the pedal when really nippy.

In very cold weather I found a couple of turns of the motor before appling heat made for a quicker start on the TD [fresh fuel in the chambers helps it go]
