I'm think of fitting a tank guard to my Disco , but i' m torn between two routes. Route 1 is tank guard and separate removable tow bar .
Route 2 is an all in one set up.
I am just worried about the strengh of the route 2 when towing , cause i sometimes tow a car trailer. Any suggestions will be great :)

I'd go down the route of a removable tow hitch and receiver they've been using these in the US for years and you know what their like for law suits So I would have thought they'd have to be pretty safe or they wouldn't sell em for fear of been sued. By the way have a look on the US ebay as their a 1/4 of the price of UK 4x4 suppliers and probably better made.

... I have a spare tank guard with removable tow bar if you are interested.
This one uses the same mounts (plus extra ones) to a normal tow bar - so I would think strength is the same.
I can email pics if it is any use (I think it is a southdown one - in pretty good nick).
See here for fitting and extra bolt locations - http://www.southdown4x4.co.uk/Fitting/FitDiscoDTP.jpg

i had a go at making my own what do you think?
