Hi ALL
HAVING A PROBLEM GETTING MY RADIO OUT OF HOUSING IN CAR I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE ON OTHER CARS, BUT RADIO FACE HAD FOUR HOLES FOR THE METAL PRONG PULLS BUT MY RADIO ON P38 ONLY HAS TWO HOLES ON EACH SIDE WHEN I TRY TO PUT SMALL BARS IN EACH HOLE IT WONT COME AND THEY DONT FEEL AS IF THEY ARE LOCATING RIGHT

This may not be the same for all stereos but mine has two horizontal slots at the top of the unit, I didn't have the right tools so I cut a junior hacksaw blade in half and that did the job. You just need to slide them in a short way as they press down on a couple of small tabs and then you can slide the unit out.

If its the Clarion head unit then you remove the radio surround and I have always used two of those small hobby type screw drivers. Slot em in and wiggle them a bit and you should feel the radio unclip from its cage. You can pull the radio right out at this point.

If you have the newer Alpine head unit then you will need two special flat tools with sort of hooks on them but from your description I think you are referring to the Clarion.

-Wills :)

Had a heck of a job getting mine out until I pushed the radio "in" quite firmly at the same time as inserting the removal tools. I heard the latching prongs spring free and the radio almost fell out.

Hiya

For whats its worth you can get a alpine head unit out using some 5mm or wider cable binders - one in each slot on the top and a little fumble & bingo
