Tailgate won't open :(

Hi guys/gals

My tailgate won't open(does once in a blue moon)
I'm being told the spring has probably snapped, any advice where it is? As I've searched hundreds of sites and pics but can't seem to figure it out! In abit of a rush to sort this as need my truck 100% operational as I use it for job

If I remember correctly it's located behind the LR oval badge on the door handle

Mine doesn't work off to fob as the spring inside if broken but if you put the key in and hold it in the turn position it'll open then

done mine last weekend, didnt find enything behind the green badge just the latch-handle, new spring and LOTS of wd40 keep an eye on how it goes back together and try not to lose the clips like i did

Not sure what I did but a little tweaking here and there and plenty if dw40, it opens every time with key (for now!) lol cheers guys

if you need the key to open it with pulling the latch at the same time its defo the spring
