Help, Just stopped the car to unload from the Tailgate and the window just dropped.Took off the cover and found a length of cable 22cms long hollow with a Black covering and the remains of a Light Blue Plastic looks like a connection plus I found a 5 cm spring. This must be the window Cable that"s broken. Now I need Help on how to replace it? My local Landy repair garage can"t do it until Friday next week so has anyone any instruction of how to replace it and where can I get the cable from?
Please guys I"m desperate. I can"t lift the Glass up so have to cover it with Poly for now.
Cheers
Dave

2 clamps hold the glass to the runners, loosen off and lift glass, Mark position on glass as it can be adjusted, can be removed or as a temp measure held up by a piece of wood. Heated screen is 2 connections on the right. When removing the runners id take the glsss out, as its sure ti drop! Just remember it needs to be slightly down to close the door.
The runners are held by 4 bolts, I think the bottom 2 are adjusters on a stud type thingy.
Motor held by bolts, loosen and turn to remove.
Getting it out is a fiddly game.
There are you tube vids to watch.
I would get the complete assembly rather than just the cables, and it's easy to replace so again I'd go for cheap ones. Make sure non of the cables and heated screen connectors catch when the window is lowered.
Reset procedure im not sure on, but I think you take the window all the way down and then up, with the door closed.
It's my theory that when not used the cables rust, so I make a point if drooping all the windows once a month or so to clear the cables of any rust forming.

Pop it over to Devon and I'll do it for you ! Have a complete new spare assembly.
Getting the glass holder 10mm bolts loosened is a bit fiddley, as the window is loose it should be O.K. as you can lower it to see what you are doing.

I"ve just ordered a new one on Ebay but if I had known you woiuld fit it it would have been a nice run out for my wife and me.. Just for curiosity where in Devon are you?.
Cheers mate.
