is there a way, or modification that can be done, to alter the washer pattern.
at the moment only the lower half of the wiper is getting water, and as a result only half the wipers sweep area is clean.

i have removed the spare wheel and have checked and happy that the tube is not kinked or split, the wiper blade is not split, is clean and pressing on the screen evenly. i have also cleaned the spray nozzle which appears to be a rose pattern. water pressure i am also happy with as what comes out is plenty.

thanks

I'm, guessing there isn't any modification, apart from fitting another washer jet from a different car type.

FYI, mine wasn't that great (300tdi auto, '94 model) but the washer jet had broken its clips, so was spraying away from the window under pressure (pressure forcing unit back). Rather than get a new one, I used clear silicon gel to fix it back in place, which coincidentally provided a leak free join! :D

Having said that, can't you rotate the washer fixture about 15 degrees counter clockwise, then fix it in place (superglue/silicon gel)? That would then get your top half of the rear window wet, if your spray is strong.

If it won't rotate, break the internal fixture clip and then use superglue/silicon gel to lock it in the preferred place!

Hi,
Tony, I think Mat has a series 2, where the jet is located in the wiper arm.
In which case there is no adjustment. Just make sure it located or seated and replace if no improvement. Mine seems to work ok, a big improvement over the series 1. Up to now anyway :D

thanks to the two of you for replying.
yes it is an s2a and the jet is within the wiper arm and not moveable.

never mind will have to give it some more thought

fixed it !!!

had a closer look at the washer jet block located within the wiper arm.
there are four jet holes that, with a poke with a pin, are now free and squirting just fine.

thanks yella i will do that as i havent finished yet.

in my opinion the wiper doesnt push hard enough on the screen missing a section at the top of its arc.

is there a way of increasing the pressure on the screen. a little bend of the arm normally would do it but as it is a plastic arm ?
