Sounds like the problems I had.....im pretty sure its to do with that sensor in the motor.....There was a lot of dirt on mine, motor and brush particles everywhere. ....also there is a ring on the motor armature which the sensor looks at.(pretty sure its an optical sensor) this was covered in crap....

Its a bit tricky to take apart but I had nothing else to check...

What you could try is just disconecting the motor from the window mech, so you can spin the motor round a few times by hand..(I know you said it it works of the switch) just so that the motor internals dont always stop at he same spot...in the up and down positions it you know what I mean...

Thanks jedi ...I'll give it a shot :)

After a month and a half of head scratching and opening the tailgate via a wire hook - it works at last ...chuffed:)

I tried holding in the door handle trigger in for a bit longer than usual.... after about 5 seconds the glass dropped and it opened ...now it works as though nothing had happened, couldn't believe it :):)

Thanks everyone

Sounds like the switch in the door handle is sticking.

Nah mate, switch was fully checked and wires bridged see post 1

Up to now all's working well since holding the handle trigger in for 5 secs...don't ask me why though ..haven't a clue :)
