tailgate button is duff

the button does not seem to work is there another way to get to
open.

I fixed the tail gate button on my sisters P38 with some cardboard when it became intermittant.

Remove the interior trim and you will find that where the button is held flexs as you press the button. I packed behind this button with some cardboard and it has been perfect ever since.

If this is your problem then that may help. Otherwise I guess it is button replacement time.

i will try that. at least it won't cost anything for a change.

i gradually packed it and eventually i got the clicking sound which
told me thats all it needed.

well at last ive got a job done with no cost at all
