Synergy 2 used or new

I am going to get a synergy 2 and pierburg MAF for my 05 TD4 (The Bosch MAF is v poorly). I ve seen on eBay an 18 month old synergy with an unused MAF. My question is do the synergy's give any problems with age or am I ok buying used . The seller says it's in perfect condition.

I haven't heard of them being troublesome.

I haven't had mine 8 months yet and I no-one I know has had one a really long time.

I'm sure Ron would be able to fix any that did give bother - he seems a genuine guy.

Worth a punt I would have thought if the price was right.

at 18 mounths old it won,t be a synergy2a+ which is the latest offering with the 3 way switch and eco map so you pay your money and take what you get .i to looked at 2nd hand one and if you can get it cheap ,then fine but mine cost £216 deliverd with switch no maf from ron,s

had mine for about 4 years before sending back for upgrade. Never had a problem with it.Very good quality item.

Older model synergy gives the same performance improvement as later ones. IMO it's best to use the highest setting that doesn't result in excess exhaust smoke thereby giving the best torque and simply back off the throttle to gain economy. Non of them make mpg worse unless you rush about, using a low setting just prevents you from doing so.

I've had my Ron Box for over 3 years, it still works great

As said above, if you have any worries give Ron a bell, he's a decent guy, real customer service type

...and ron will upgrade it to the 2a spec and supply a dash switch for 40 quid so if you get the ebay set for a good price it could be the chepaer option.....
