Hi guys, i have looked through threads and i can't seem to find the answer that i'm looking for.

I recently blew my front diff, so i've stripped my entire axle down bar the swivels.
i found that when everything was stripped off there was movement in the swivel housings on both sides? as both sides were doing it i thought it was normal.
i have almost putt it all back together but now that i've noticed that wobble, i can still feel it even with the hub assembly all back together?
I've never replaced my swivels before so not sure why it's wobbling? any help guys? do i need to take it all back apart and fix this swivel issue? or is this normal?
fingers crossed it all ok. but i need some reassurance please :)

by wobble do you mean play in the kingpins , thats between the outer hub and the inner ball . If yes then you have aproblem as there should not be !!

Then you need to remove the hub swivel seal (thats the big one that wipes the ball) by undoing the retainer ring . Then depending on what hubs you have There will be either bearing at bottom and railko bush at top or bearing at top. There are 2 bolts that hold the swivel pins in , top and bottom Look for wear on pins , unusual on bottom but with bush type top common. It may be possible to continue with old bearings , after inspection , if not then new bearings (or railko bush) and reshim to get desired preload .

Might be an idea to get a w/s manual

Gutted... wish i new every single component in my axle was going to give up (other than my half shafts) because then i would have just put a second hand axle on instead of replacing both CV joints, stub axles, wheel bearings, diff and now swivel refurb is on the table. well... at least i'll have an overhauled front axle :p
so, it's time to order a swivel gasket/seal set, and kingpin bearings ey? where's the cheapest place to get all this? fleebay seems a little steep for the kingpins and bearings, or is that what they cost?
thanks for the help guys.

ok, i've done some research and i think my swivel pin pre-load is the culprit here... i've read along the lines of.. adjust shims... from what i remember, i don't think mine has any shims...? i also have never seen how it's done? i know there's a set of fishing scales involved to which you attach to the ball joint and should read between 12-14lb. but it would be greatly helpful if i were to see a picture or a thread.
that workshop manual was no good. you have to buy to print out and my broadband is just not fast enough to find it lol...
