The shiny part of the swivel bearing housing on the right side of my D90 has got areas of rust which have blackened are are pitted. It's been like this for a while and has got through two MOTs without any advisories. I will shortly be changing the bearings and disks and pads, should i change that too. if i change one, do i need to change the other one which looks fine? I'll try to attach a picture and would really appreciate some advice.

The steering stop bolt has been removed in this picture. I'm having problems getting it to do it's job to stop the tyres touching the radius arms. if i adjust it beyond a length of 52mm it seems to miss the edge of the swivel bearing housing which it should but up against. I wonder if using a bolt with a wider head would be the answer. have others encountered this problem?

Thanks

what do ya fill ya swivels with oil or grease? if it's oil drain it out and fill with oneshot grease and they'll be fine. Changing em is easy enough if ya handy with the old spanners you'll need a set of spring scales to checkthe preload though.

I'll go for that aswel, I polished mine up with wet and dry then filled with a mix of gear oil and grease, been fine.
