Swivel Ball seals

I nicked one of the Britpart swivel ball seals before I even got near the vehicle. Anyway I ordered a new one and ended up getting genuine LR ones rather than Britpart.
They arrived this morning and while more substantial as expected the rubber seals themselves are much stiffer and harder than the much wider and softer Britpart ones.
Any thought on which type is best?
Using with NOS original balls, not britpart ones

Id be using the lr seals & if your fitting new swivels id fit a set of gators to protect them.

I did ask for recommendations about swivel gaitors which vary massively in price and got "don't fit them they'll destroy your balls" and "If you don't fit them your balls will be destroyed"
The price of them, probably the same kits, varies widely and there doesn't seem to be any NOS available.

If not using your truck for some time a dose of spray grease on the swivels will keep them good.

I had leather gaiters on my 109. I thought they were brilliant, the swivel balls didn't wear at all, as far as I could tell.

Bit fiddly to fit, but other than that, I would recommend them.

My mate had a set on his s3 & the swivels looked superb. Found these for you....

I had asked the question a couple of weeks ago about kits, there are loads about but the price for what looks like the same kit varies widely. I had been hoping someone would know the difference. My suspicion is that they are all the same kit prices differently depending on the vendor.

There are leather ones and rubber ones. The ones I had were leather. I think they were on the vehicle when I bought it, but I replaced them with another set, which I probably got from Paddocks.
