Anyone know What is the largest size tyre the swingaway carriers can carry , and still get full opening of the back door on a defender CSW ?

My mantec one has 265 75s on it and is ok, but the tyre hits the brake light before the arm stops it so I have to be careful not to just throw it open. No probs other than that though

What size tyre are you considering.

Safari Equip and Nakatanenga wheel carriers will cope with 35" diameter tyres.

If you want to go larger then you might have to consider the large tyre option of the Safari Equip range of wheel carriers.

The tyres I have are 285/75 r 16 BFG MT , but its not possible to get the rear door to 90deg opening as the tyre on the rear door carrier strikes the light guard on the o/s/r.
That is why i was asking if anyone with that size tyre on a swingaway can tell me if they can open their rear door fully .

255 85 r16 on a mantec hits the light if not carefull but allows the door to open wide enough to use the whole door opening at least 90degrees

Should add It's the cheapo from Paddocks and it opens fully without hitting anything and there are no creaks or groans or rattles of any kind. I put Sikaflix behind panel when I bolted it together .Hope thi info helps
