SWB Wheels - probably again.

Ok I have a set of SWB wheels - the narrow ones - and I want to fit 750s on them. Will 750s fit on SWB rims ok?

My problem is I have two wider wheels, from a lwb I think, and 2 narrow ones.

I have Avon 750/16s on my SWB. I bought them as a set on the steel rims. Take a look, is this what you meant?

The modular with mud terrain tyres with 205/16s that were on it when I bought it.

Yes, although it is difficult to tell if they are as narrow as my ones from the photo.

by rights 7.50s are supposed to go on 5.5" rims, 5" rims are for 6.00s-6.50s

I can check the rims if that would help. I don't know the history of the wheels at all (I bought them on eBay). All I know is the tyres are Avon Rangemaster 750/16s. Would there be any distinguishing marks on the rims to indicate the width/size of them? I'll upload any pics that might help to clarify things.

i "think" most of the landrover rims have thier width stamped into the face between stud holes

if not you should find at least one code stamped there

my 6.5" rims have anr1534 stamped on them, i didn't look for the size when i was after them as i knew i needed that code to confirm they were the ones i was after

I've just checked my rims, correct Nitemare, they are stamped with 5.50Fx16x33, if that's any help. There are three other stamps as well: ANR4636, E1493J and what looks like the old Dunlop logo followed by 1390.

there's two different offset 6.5" rims i think so make sure of yours, mine came off the 130" landrover

7.50 and 205 tyres are so close it makes no differance, mine has 2 7.50 rims and 2 205 rims, no problems yet, and the man at the garage said that its totally fine

rims to suit 205s would really be the 5.5" rims as a 205 is actually slightly wider than a 7.50 at near as dammit 8" even landrover themselves put the 205s on 5.5" rims
