I am sure this will stir up a hornets nest of partisan posts from those who
love there SUV's
But my opinion is that though they are capable of off road use, they are not
really intended for it, with all that trim and bits that can fall off, get
scuffed, dented or whatever, whereas Defenders and Series are designed from
the outset as pure utilities.
They are really two different kinds of vehicle entirely and those who hate
SUV's realy need to grasp that and not persecute 4 x 4's for the sake of it.
The point about my Landie is she ain't pretty in the conventional sence,
dents and scratches don't matter, they add to the "patina"
The other main reason I drive a landie is because there is nothing that
cannot be fixed, unlike some cheap old banger that would inherently be less
safe and more expensive to keep in the long run.
I like something that was built to last and does (with the appropriate
constant attention of course)
