Ok its the same old topic. But I haven't seen an answer for this question anywhere.

Most of the 2" lift kits I have seen contain springs which are +2" but they are combined with standard shocks.

I just don't see how this works. I would have expected a +2" shock as well.

My understanding is that the longer spring enables you to keep pressure on the axle under articulation to help keep traction.

So do I need to miss the kits and just get +2" shocks and springs?
 
some come with shocks too. +2" lifts the body up by 2 inches, so that you get more clearance under it. obviously if there are no shocks then the articulation is the same.

With 2 inch longer shocks, this is got around, so giving better articulation too. That said, they tend to no go 'up' as far, so you loose some of the ability to push the wheels up into the arches.

on a 90 especially, theres little advantage to be had by lifting it.
