Now then, I want to make my defender ride abit nicer, I don’t need really long travel suspension as it’s just a farm truck and not doing any serious off road(similar to pick up suspension) any suggestions would be appreciated

For what you need stick with standard springs. I have tried other stuff in the past on my farm Ninety and recon standard is best. Just having new makes a difference. As for dampers/shocks standard are fine but for not a lot more you can get "gas" shocks for a smoother ride on the rough. Super Gaz is one make.

Avoid the yellow 'heavy duty' springs.
Terrafirma do some which are light and medium use.

I used the TF015 on the front (as I have a big winch bumper and winch) and TF018 on the back which are 2" taller than standard.
For shocks i'd reccommend the cellular Dynamic DC6000L and the DC6001L

You may need some other bits and pieces, spring cups and retainers etc but it's easy enough to do yourself.

Fit a set of "Puma" 90 springs, and a set of Terrafirma standard length 4 way adjustable dampers.

The Puma springs give a better ride quality and the Terrafirma dampers are adjustable to give a more comfortable ride (set them to the softest setting)

l've done this to a 110 and a 90 TD5 and in both cases there was a definite improvement

My missus (after l did her 90) said it was "like having a mattress between you and the bumps in the road"

You can buy the springs new "take off" from Twisted, or you could last time l looked.
