Just about to order my suspension kit (Terrafirma +2") but am a little confused. I will probably get bashed for asking this but I have searched and can not seem to find the info that I am after.

I have the choice of normal load, medium load and HD springs. My 90 is never really loaded up much and does not have a winch or anything heavy added, but does get used for greenlaning often.

Which setup would be best for offroad because it seems that most people seem to go for the HD setup for offroad but is there an advantage to this or is a softer setup better??

Any help much appreciated.

Adam

I went for Medium on mine Same kit.

Mine is used 60% road 40% offroad. so wanted a setup that would suit all round use.

Yeah thats what I was thinking to go for the inbetween. Dont like a soft rolly ride but then would not like it too stiff. Think the medium load should be ideal but just wanted to make sure that they would not mess up the offroad handling.

do you run with a roof rack?

I've put the HD ones on to reduce roll when it's loaded

the wifes got the inbetweenies give quite a nice ride on and off road

No roof rack and never really plan on adding one as I have no use for it really. Nice ride on road and offroad sounds good. Think I will go for the medium.

Cheers

I had HD springs on the front of mine and its properly hard. you can feel every pebble.

Medium sounds good for you.

Have mediums but I carry a lot of weight.

I think the springs are an excellent buy for the £££, I would think again about the shocks though.

I would go normal if your Defender is standard. why uprate if your not carrying any extra weight?

The spring rate of the medium TF springs is the same as Old Man Emu HDs for a 90 and the HD TF springs have a spring rate not recommended by Old Man Emu for a 90!
