this has probably been asked a million times before but ive tried using the search function and havent had much luck....so i foyu get arsey about people not be able to use the search function turn away now!!!

Basically i have a totally standard 1985 2.5 petrol 90 defender. And needless to say i want to take it offroad. Ive had a series 3 diesel which was amazing offroad for what it was but have never prepped a petrol 90..

Soooooo....

1. whats the best & least expensive suspension kit for an extra couple of inches and do i need any major major knowledge to fit the kit, im a pretty handy diy mechanic so am looking to do it all myslef...

2. whats the best way to prep a petrol engine for its inevitable meeting with water?

any other mods worth doing?

Thanks for any advice!

lift kits are easy to do if your reasonably practical and have some basic tools. Read this If u still decide to go for it dont get ****part springs as they sag rapidly. Ive used terra firma and not had a problem tho they arent cheap. Had a britpart + procomp set up before cost me £200 for srpings and dampers and it was a total waste of money really. wish id just bitten the bullet and gone for terra firma!! by **** by twice anorl tht!
