Rang for my renewel with Sureterm today, only to be told they don't do old landrovers anymore! - Well, the guy told me that they cannot get any company to insure them any more out of the 40 plus they use! He says this was due to having lots of claims last year! Now mine is 25 years old and in my experience drivers of older vehicles which they maintain themselves do not tend to get involved in accidents on the road - certainly far less than cars do, so that doesn't add up at all.

I was paying £160 for fully comp, and all I've found this far are ridiculous £400 + prices on the price comparison sites! Seems like I need to get looking!

Try MCE insurance I paid just short of £200 and got free breakdown cover,went to landrover show last year at Peterbourgh blew diff on off road course and had car taken nearly 200 miles home free of charge,guy driving us said it would have cost around £400.Worth a try 0844 338 68 88.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have just been on the phone to Sureterm as my renewal is due. They told me they insure over 70,000 land rovers, most of them old Land Rovers and didn’t have a problem insuring my old landy (£90 renewal – thank you very much!).

Not sure who you spoke to but maybe it’s worth phoning them back up to find out exactly why they wouldn’t insure you! :)

Just a note to add to this thread. Today i have spoken with the gent who created Sureterm and he was quite shocked to read this info on the forum. Sureterm is very much alive and still playing a very large part in keeping us Land Rover owners insured. Of course your all welcome to make your own minds up, but from the information i've received today, i'd say that they are a pretty much a Landy Loving firm!
