Why does anybody want to put a device into the air intake which will cause a restriction, is there any test bed data for these gadgets cos if I were to be fitting a device that claimed to perform I would be wanting to see the graphs from the dyno. Can paddocks supply that data.

Don't know why the turbo comes in early, can anybody explain I thought it was set at the factory, and if it is early is the fuel delivery system compensating for this early boost, cos on a petrol it would lean off unless you remap it, dont know what effect this has on the diesel but if it were me I would find out.

it only spins upto the amount of revs cause by the airflow from what the engine needs so no more air will be forced into the system by it, only the same amount of air as what you would normally get.
as regards the circulations of air, do you really think its gonna be circulating in the same way it passes through the device when it has reached through the air below, past the air flow meter (v8) and into the inlet manifold where it is branched off into 4 or 8 ports??? me thinks not,
really makes you laugh when yer see just how many people have bought these.
also with any engine it all comes down to engine maintenance and running. a healthy well maintained engine will make the most of modifications while and poor running engine will hardly make use of it.

good service and clean up anyday for me, and thats from one who cant help tweak engines.

I still have the packaging which shows a dyno print out of before fitting and after which i will try to get scanned and post on ere for ya ;)

I dont however believe that it increases BHP or maybe even economy as stated so take it with the pinch (or large bucket full) of salt that it deserves :p

As regards the improved feel of the engine in my Disco after fitment of the hiclone i suppose it could always be the placebo effect

Going to change her fuel filter today which will probably make her feel like a new car again and will certainly do more good than the hiclone :p .................. might even treat her to an oil n filter change too :D

Sometimes it's as you say, you bought it and you want it to make a difference, sometimes it's just a change in note like these induction kits the kids fit to 1200cc corsa's etc and although they think it's going like fook now, in actual fact it's the same or worse.

Very seldom have I fitted a product that gave the wow factor, I fit free-flow air filters to all my vehicles, since it improves air flow and lasts forever, but can't say with honesty that they make an ounce of difference.

Spend yer dosh on fuel or beer.

Either that or try a "td5 boost chip" from ebay. Which is about £30 - 50 for a 'NOT-NOT' logic chip to solder on.

We've used K&N's on the series and disco 300, seems to help a litte, then we bolted stuff on, negated the benifit lol. If i need to replace one/get a new landy :D might try a pipercross

We have a vehicle built for rough terrain in mind, and we are all trying(some of us) to get it to go faster, might as well put some stripes on it.

Let's all get a reality check.

Just look after your landy, that's it.

Don't forget the halfrauds taxdisk holder and ripspeed egg sauce tip! they give yer 20bhp each!

Saying that, I know someone that has a westfield with a rover v8, and has 2 halfrauds ripspeed egg sauce tips on it! does the job though, looks ok on a westfield!

A lotus 7 westfield wif a v8?, cosworth yes, v8 too too heavy surely?

I got an exhaust from italy for my merc sports, allowed me to lose a silencer and up the flow a bit, with the k&n air filter insert and the arse cut out my air box it sounds great, can hear the supercharger whining away. Goes a bit better as well, wanted to chip it but needed to change the gears in the supercharger and it was going to cost nearly 2 grand.

i already got a henry .... but i think its past its best now .....
oover bag ?? i wander if thats the problem , never put one in it ...

a henry will suck till it goes up in smoke

a yer changed yer fuel filter recently ? - yer not running it on veggie oil are ya ?

i dunno how you could kill a henry in normal use, only time i've managed to do one in was when i ran one for 4 hours when i had it drawing air through a home made smelter and hadnt unreeled all of the leccy cable - and i'd only call that a wound not a death blow
