I doubt if any of those will be as expensive as supercharging a Series engine, and your engine is more likely to survive.

If you want to buy new Detroit stuff, look for an Eaton Transmissions agent round you. In your location, that will probably be a bus company or garage that does other stuff too, and they might have second hand bits as well, or know who does.
If you have one, a local Land Rover club might also advise you.

Do you have the 3 bearing or 5 bearing unit?

Better get yourself a Jeep.

it’s not as if nobody in the past 50 years has had the thought to fit a V8 or T-Series turbo engine to a Series……

The 2.25 was also turbocharged from the factory in the form of the 2.5 Diesel Turbo. So the basic block is certainly capable of boost. And there are even a few 2.5p turbos kicking about I believe.

Loads of low boost blower kits and applications. And all yield more than stock power levels.

Big difference no. Unless you fitted one to an I’ll running engine. But then that is gains from making it run right. The SU will offer some gains in some areas though I do agree. But the gains are going to pretty insignificant. Especially vs a booster engine.

Also no reason why you can’t run a blower with carbs. Loads and load and loads of people do it every single day with a huge variety of engines and types.

I thought you needed a specially modified carb that was aware of boost, so you're not running lean when it's running or rich when it's off

You could go injection.

I think the supercharging bit has been done before either on the series 2 forum or as a kit when the vehicles were current as an aftermarket option
As said fuelling will be your main issue, engine should be tough enough

If you are on budget, I wouldn't be supercharging it. It might seem like a cheap option but trust me, it won't be. The gearbox can't take too much more than 100bhp anyway. If you want more power but are on a budget, save up for the SU carb and mounting parts, and watch some YouTube vids on porting/polishing heads. Electronic ignition may help too, compared to the poor quality of points currently available. These will give you a definite improvement.
