okay i picked up the discovery roof saturday to transplant on to my rangie classic just one little hiccup in the plan anybody had ago at closing the electric sunroof by hand as its stuck open can the cables be turn by hand or am i going to have find a motor turn them.

I think if I remember (could be wrong) if you expose the motor, the large centre plastic cog has a slot or allen key cut in to it, find an appropiate tool to wind it.

On my '93 classic, you remove the two large plastic screws that hold the panel for sunroof switch and the light to expose the mechanism to manually close it. It uses a special little tool. On my '90 it is turned by a socket.

thanks lads should have said the motor has already been remove'd on the discovery roof came from an early 200 hundred model no motor just the cables still in place with sun roof in upright position
