Hi folks,
The new seal that runs around the sunroof glass arrived today. :)
Oh-My! that's one complicated metal/rubber contraption right there.:eek:

Is there a step-by-step anywhere (with pictures) for those of us that are of a more timid disposition?
Does the whole headlining have to be dropped and the entire sunroof slide mech have to come out and the huge hole in the roof temporarily get sheeted over in order to replace yank the glass and replace the seal?
TIA,

Dan.

You should be able to remove just the glass panel, but do the wind-deflector first..

RAVE --> Workshop Manual --> Chassis & Body --> Repair --> Sunroof Wind Deflector & Panel :-

Tilt the sunroof and remove the 2 plastic covers which slide forward IIRC

Behind them are some torx screws 4 if memory serves, remove them and with some gentle persuasion the glass just lifts out ;)

Putting the new seal on is a piece of pish, once fitted you should endeavour to use the sunroof more often, contrary to popular belief not using the sunroof will cause the seal to build up with debris, the tell tale green gunk builds up and if you open it infrequently and the seals becomes stuck you'll rip it again ;)
