I’ve got a 2004 L322 TD6 Vogue.

Amongst my numerous problems is the sunroof.

I picked up a new motor online during my latest shop for parts. It was cheap so I thought it was worth a punt.

However, I think I’ve probably/possibly started barking up the wrong tree.

Taking the old motor out in advance of my part being delivered I found the sun roof control button was disconnected.

Reconnecting said button saw the roof go up a tiny bit and stop and return. Same other way too.

Having removed the motor from the roof and reconnected the battery it seems to work when taken away from the mounting. Replaced back in its spot it’s the same as before.

Ive had a search but mostly find how to reset it. Sorry if this has been asked before.

anyone had similar or any ideas?

Sticking mechanism maybe? A blast of wd40 over the whole cable and wherever you can get to may go a way to making it work. Sunroofs are rarely lubed and can stick. Worth a try. ;)

No dice yet. Looking more mechanical than electrical. New switch (as I had one anyway) and new motor. Still same issue. Annoying but just one of a few problems!
