hello freelander'ers i'm new to the site and got a question can anyone get back to me, thanks in advance, john

how do i remove the engins sump cover on my freelander td4 to change the oil?

2 x bolts near the bottom of the radiator 13mm 1 either side - follow the alloy arms of the cover

4 x bolts bolted to lower suspension/subframe assembly horizontally 13mm short socker/spanner

2 x bolts 13mm at back of subframe bolted upwards on metal tabs

do a search on here. while it's off, drill a hole in the cover so next time, you can get a socket on an extension up through and drain the oil without dropping the cover

You cut the hole so that the front end is just vertically underneath the plug, the remaining 15 cm towards the end, that way, when you remove the plug the oilstream will flow through the hole into the recipient, only the last drops will fall on the cover which you can then easily wipe clean with some cloth.
