Sudden loss of power

A good result, no wonder it was hard to find. There must have been quite a bit of air getting sucked in, but you often can't see that kind of leak with the naked eye. Classic car fault - started after refilling, which led you a right merry dance in the wrong direction.

You wouldn't credit it. Motor AGAIN ground to a halt and again after only having just been refueled at a garage (I had been refueling for the last month or so from fuel siphoned out of my boat) . Managed to get my LR home after removing rubber fuel line from top of tank and refitting. Rang up my LR man and took car away. He found the real reason for all my troubles. In the tank was a credit card sized piece of mangled gaffer tape. The dam thing was being sucked on to bottom of pick up pipe but only when fuel had been seriously disturbed by a garage pump. How I missed this wretched piece of gaffer tape first time around is beyond me but I did. So it was not air ingress after all. The tank was only a year old and somehow someone introduced it. Hey ho.
