Ok so the Salzburg alpen cup 4x4 event is coming up on saturday 12th and I am supposed to be in it. i was talking with a guy who has done the event and he said that there are parts of the course that have seen vehicles on their roofs. I've got one of those things that tell you the degrees that you are over etc but i was just wondering; Would a 2" lift change the potential roll over angle? i don't have a roll cage and i would be super ****ed off if anything reaaly bad happened to my beloved landy. cheers

Tipping over is seldom about tipping a vehicle a vehicle beyond a magic angle, but more about hitting a rock or a hole whilst leaning, often coupled with going too fast. 5 miles an hour can be too fast.
A lift kit will increase the centre of gravity, so increase the likelihood of a roll. Long travel soft springs, great for bumpy ground, will also allow the body to lean further than stiff springs for the same ground angle, so again increase the likelihood of a roll.
The two key points on severe side slopes are, go slowly, ideally tick over 1st low, and if you feel it starting to go, steer down hill.

yeah the wobble-ometer has a red line but i am not really sure which vehicle it was designed for.

and thanks for the advece from davec. i will certainly bear that in mind. apparently you can bypass all obstacles on the course but obviously points will be deducted for doing so. as i am flying the flag for, not only Britain, but also for land rover, i am hoping to do as much as possible to show the Austrians what real 4x4's look like, as they are mostly into their jeeps. on the other hand, I neither want to write myself or my landy off!
