Can someone clarify what the arrangements are with the disc brakes on a 2003 defender 90.

ie: when you depress the brake pedal, should this cause the brakes to be applied to all 4 wheels equally?

or is there a bias towards the brakes on the front or rear wheels etc?
 
Yes, but that would be the case anyhow as the weight transfers forwards when you brake. So if the force was distributed evenly the rears would lock up as the weight over the rear axle decreased. This is why the valve is in place on 90s.

110s being more stable in that way and having more weight I guess Land Rover figured it wasn't necessary on those.
 
Early 110 had the same regulator valve as 90's, it was the same as used in the classic Mini:) (not Mk1)
 
My 90 one is on the drivers side below the master cylinder on the chassis.

My old 110 had it on the bulkhead below the master cylinders:)
