Hi guys,I just need a general direction to go in for fault Diagnosis.
I have a 1998 RRC 3.9 14cux running on petrol. she was running great, misfired ran like crap for 2 mins and cut-out. She won't start at all. I have a spark.

Where to from here ?

Welcome to the Zone. Sorry about your troubles.

You need to check for proper fuel flow. Listen while your key is turned to the "On" position. Can you hear your fuel pump whirring away? It can help to have someone help by turning the key while you're underneath the rear of the vehicle.

If you can hear the pump, check the fuel flow after the fuel filter by disconnecting the fuel line. Again, if you have a helper they can turn the key at your prompt and you can analyze the flow. If you have pump action but no flow through the filter, it's clogged and that could be the cause of your problem.

It's rare, but sometimes your fuel tank breather gets clogged up and a suction is created by the fuel being delivered out of the tank with no air intake into the tank. It can actually crumple the tank inwards when it's bad! Opening your fuel cap can solve that issue.

Start there.

Plus, even though you have spark it may not be enough. Is it a bright and white or yellow spark?
