stuck in 2 inch of mud

Hi something happened last week and i could not believe it.

I was entering a field from a tarmac road in my p38 dse. There was a 5 foot rise over about 15 feet in distance and the dam thing would not go up it.
Now I aint no mug at off roading as ive had 4 landrovers over 14 years and all my other series rovers would not have even got into a sweat about this.

I had pirelli scorpions on with loads of tread. i was in low box 2nd gear and i took a run up .

What went wrong????.

PERHAPS I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AT THE LABEL ON THE MUD BEFORE I TRIED TO GO ON IT.
MAYBE IT WAS THAT NEW TEFLON COATED STUFF.
