Hi People

Newbie to the forum just purchased a 2003 td6 RR.

Problems at 50mph plus with a vibration travelling through the car, feels like a something is un balanced but you can drive through it increasing speed and it goes away.

I first thought that it could be a prop problem, so i removed front and rear and thought i found the problem!!!

1 of the universal joints seemed to be jamming.

Went down to bmw as land rover didnt want to sell me seperate parts they wanted me to buy a £600 prop when all i needed was a UJ.

Anyhow replaced it and still have the problem. HELP!! Anyone come accross this ??

I have also noticed that if i sit on the spot and rev the engine slowly at 2000rpm i can feel the vibration but not as harsh.

Also only getting 18mpg round town.

Any help would be appreciated on where to look next, i have 80000 on the clock and have checked that all the recalls are up to date.

Thankyou Dan

Could be an injector problem causing a miss fire.

Just sounds like your wheels need balancing to me. Mine had the same problem, £15 for local garage to balance wheels and ta-da! fixed! Seems to be a fairly common problem and your symptoms are spot on.

As for economy. Welcome to owning a RR. 18 around town is about right I'm afraid!!

Thanks guys for your comments

i will get the wheels checked and check for brakes hanging on...

ill see if i can get the injectors pressure tested this could be a good shout.

any more advise will be helpfull.. 18mpg deep pockets owning one of these

My mates L322 TD6 does about 11 litres to 100 kilometres, that's about 25mpg I think. Goes down to 9litres per 100k on the autoroute.

Hi Guys

OK its got bad ,went to london yeaterday and returned on a AA truck!!!

Not having much luck with my recent purchase.

The fault has now progressed to a constant missfire, with lack of power!!

going to pressure test injectors 2moro but can see what looks like a diesel damp patch under the plastics so may be a fuel leak!!!

Hopefully nothing major.

mine was the same vibration when stationery and also at 50-60 mph ,then wouldn't start after short trips ,got it on the diagnostics abd turned out its the inline fuel pump ,got the new one fitting it friday .
