Well today i discovered that the random EAS fault that pops up mainly when i leave it running in park, is cleared simply by plugging the OBD Serial cable in for a second and removing it, Strange?
Only found out as when i plugged the cable in it fell straight back out and had cleared the fault.
Anyone found similar?

Hope you tell the buyer when you sell the car, Toyota :D:D:D

Wont sell a car with a known fault, i'll be swapping the driver pack back to the original one when i get a spare hour, its only thrown this random fault since i fitted a rebuilt spare valve block and swapped the driver pack.

I don't know what year your car is, but there was a resistor mod at the back of the OBD connector. I cannot remember exactly what the fault was that it cured, I'll see if I can find details.

It's a 98 dse, i'm sure the fault is something or nothing as when it flashes up it doesn't drop, or give the 35mph warning, as soon as i touch the OBD plug on the socket it does the beep beep beep, i unplug and 3 seconds later all is well again.
I suspected the Driver as i swapped it with the rebuilt valve block a few months back and this fault has only occurred since.
Any info you kind find would be greatly received though Keith.

OK, I found it, the mod doesn't affect the EAS, it's to do with the BECM failing to go into sleep mode.
I would look at the back of the OBD connector for corrosion, I can't see how the driver pack would cause that effect, although failure of the electrolytic in the driver does cause random faults.

That mod was to cure battery drain. :);)

Will check the connector for corrosion as a first off, if not I've got a driver in the garage so its only an hours work to swap it over, hopefully that will be the end of it.
