Just after some guidance please...
A "ticking" sound from the engine has recently started. It gets louder as I accelerate and there's a healthy plume of oil smoke from the exhaust when starting up. Performance doesn't seem to be lacking though.
My (uneducated) guess is an issue with a piston. question is:

- correct diagnosis?
- will continuing to drive do further damage?
- easy to fix? (Don't worry, will probably take to mechanic.)
