Strange Hazard's Problem

Got a bit of a strange problem so thought i'd ask if anyone else has experianced it before I start taking things in apart.

If I hat a pot hole or something hard (enough to make a bang) all my indicators flash (hazards) and won't switch off, the green direction lamp is flashing on the dash but not the hazard lamp. It dosn't respond to the hazard switch or the indicator stalk.
The only way to stop it is to switch off the engine (lights still flashing) and then switch back on, the problem cancels when I turn the ignition back on.

This has happend twice now, as I say it's only when hitting bumps hard.

Any ideas?

Drive round the bumps..................Oh aye that int the point is it.

Im no expert but 2 things pop into my head.

Short circut somewhere ? but the restarting the car wouldnt fix that.

Faluty relay switch (the thing that makes the ticking noise when indicating)
Possibly getting stuck on when bumped and reset when switched off.

If it is the relay you can change it yourself and the relays are not that expensive.

I've got plenty of spare relays and thought of swapping them about as the first point of call, just thought i'd see if anyone had a "fix" for it before I started.

It's probably not a relay, check under the glove compartment for a green box with 2 multi plugs joining into into it. Make sure this is (really) securely fastened to something! I'll bet it's not..
